Apache Plume.
We wish to thank Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for some of the information on this page. We share images and information with Wikipedia. Apache Plume is a deciduous to evergreen dicot, perennial shrub, (governed by drought). It will flower profusely with white, five-petaled flowers, for many summer months if it receives abundant moisture. It has silky plumed seed heads which are formed and cover the tips of the branches for many months. They stand out more than the white flowers.

Height: About 3 - 4 feet tall. Can reach 5 - 7 feet in good conditions.
Flowers: The white flowers are solitary on long peduncles or corymbose, 0.8-1 inch long; calyx cupulate with ovate lobes; petals 5, white, slender, hairy.
Flowering Time: May and August - September.
Seeds: The seeds are feathery and reddish in color; hairy and solitary.
Leaves: Leaves are alternate, simple, cuneate-obovate or spatulate with 3 - 7 deep lobes,0.25 - 0.5 inch long, tomentose beneath, attenuate at base, obtuse at apex, entire, revolute.
Bark: The bark is white to dark gray. Twigs white, pubescent.
Found: Native of the USA (AZ, CA, CO, NM, NV, OK, TX, UT). Also found in Northern Mexico in northern Sonora, northern Chihuahua, Baja Norte, & Baja California.
