This web page is about a short 3 hour tour we took of Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. This was a highly publicised tour by Norwegian Cruise Line, but we and most of our fellow tourists found it very disappointing. The tour director was uninformed and it was too short of time alloted for the sights we were to see. In many instances we did not see the sights that we were told we would see. We would say, that we saw some of the sights, but they were rapidly seen as we drove past them. But, this was the only tour available since we did not book early. We recommend booking early for the better tours. It was not worth the money! We could have done better by going into town and taking a bus.
Here's What We Were Told, We Would See:
During your scenic tour of Boston you'll pass the highlights of the city including Copley Square, Trinity Church, Boston Public Library, Back Bay, Newbury Street, Public Garden, Boston Common, Beacon Hill and the Massachusetts State House. A visit will be made to the Old North Church where Paul Revere ordered two lanterns hung in the steeple to signal that the British Redcoats were approaching by sea Continuing across the Charles River to Cambridge, you'll see a number of New England-style red brick buildings, unique cafes and splendid bookstores. Disembarking your coach in Harvard Square, you'll have an opportunity to stroll past the hallowed halls of America's oldest and most prestigious university. Note: Tour itinerary may vary due to traffic conditions. Tour includes a slow 10-minute walk to and from the Old Church on partially hilly terrain and free time in Harvard Yard, walking at guest's discretion. Many of our notes about this tour come to us from the Norwegian Cruise Line and from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Copley Square:
Copley Square, is named not for the artist, J.S. Copley, but for the donor of the land on which it was developed, is a public square located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. A bronze statue of Copley, by sculptor Lewis Cohen, is located on the northern side of the square. The name Copley Square is frequently applied to the larger area extending approximately two blocks east and west along Boylston Street, Huntington Avenue, and St. James Avenue. The square is adjacent to the finish line of the Boston Marathon, which is commemorated by a monument in the park. NOTE: Ourselves, & the other tourists, talked among ourselves; and we were all very glad that we did not live in Boston. It's way too crowded.

If you are planning to visit Boston & Cambridge, Massachusetts. And if you are coming from outside of Massachusetts, you could fly into the General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport (IATA: BOS, ICAO: KBOS, FAA LID: BOS) in the East Boston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States (and partly in the Town of Winthrop, Massachusetts), and then rent a car. There are many hotels and motels in the area. We have some links to Priceline.Com on this page since they can arrange all of your air flights, hotels and car. We,of course, appreciate your use of the advertising on our pages, since it helps us to keep our pages active.
