Discovered in 1743; Deir el-Bahri , literally meaning, "The Northern Monastery") is a complex of mortuary temples and tombs located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor, Egypt. The funeral Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1490 BC-1468BC) was built by the architect, Senenmut. The temple was
inspired by the Temple Of Mentuhotep whose terraces and porticos it has reproduced.
There are three temples at Deir el Bahri. Hatshepsut's temple, Tuthmosis III's temple, and Mentuhotep II's temple.
Each in its' own special way blends into the natural surroundings.
The Cairo International Airport (IATA: CAI, ICAO: HECA) is the busiest airport in Egypt and is located to the north-east of the city around 15 km from the business area of the city.
Cairo International is the second busiest airport in Africa with over 65 airlines using the Cairo airport (including charter airlines) and 9 cargo airlines. With the assimilation of EgyptAir into Star Alliance in July 2008 the airport has the potential to be a major hub with its positioning between Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
In 2008, the airport served 14,360,175 passengers and it is one of the top 100 airports in the world.
The airport handles both domestic and international flights, and is open 24 hours a day.
We suggest flying into Cairo and staying in one of their many fine hotels when touring Cairo and the ruins in the surrounding areas.

The Aswan International Airport (IATA: ASW, ICAO: HESN), also known as Daraw Airport, is the airport located in Aswan, Egypt. You can arrange flights directly to Aswan, If you wish.

Luxor International Airport (IATA: LXR, ICAO: HELX) is the main airport serving the city of Luxor, Egypt. It is located about four miles (6km) east of the city.
Many charter airlines use the airport, as it is a popular tourist destination for those visiting the River Nile, The funeral Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Valley of the Kings.
