Gazania is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, native to Southern Africa. It is often planted as drought-tolerant ground cover. This is a very popular landscaping plant in Arizona and it is considered a short lived perennial.
Quick Notes:
Height: Up To about 12 inches tall and about 12 inches wide.
Flowers: Daisy like flowers up to about 4 inches across. They are yellow, gold, or orange with a dark zone around the central disc.
Flowering Time: Mid March - May.
Seeds: The seeds are almost circular, 1/2 inch or slightly more in diameter, brown to reddish brown, flattened, irregularly angled, with a finely pitted surface.
Leaves: Leaves turn upwards at night.
Found: Native of South Africa.
