Lynx Lake, Arizona, is a 55-acre (220,000 m2) reservoir located within Prescott National Forest, approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) east of Prescott, Arizona, in the Bradshaw Mountains. Lynx Lake is located at 5,530 feet (1,690 m) elevation and is stocked for fishing. It is one of the most popular recreation areas in central Arizona. Mild weather, the cool ponderosa pine forest, trout fishing, boating, mountain hiking, horseback riding, archaeological sites, and bird watching attract visitors from throughout Arizona. The lake was formed in 1952, when a dam was put in at Lynx Creek, 6 miles (9.7 km) below Walker, Arizona. Mule deer, bald eagles, osprey, and javelinas are native to the area. Rainbow trout, bull frogs, and domestic ducks and geese have been introduced into the lake. The Arizona State Game and Fish Department occasionally stocks the lake with rainbow trout. Largemouth bass & crappie are also present in the lake. The lake is open all year. Plant life native to the area, consists of alligator juniper, beargrass, cliff-rose, & ponderosa pine,. There are two National Forest Campgrounds near the lake with 36 campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. There are four double campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. There are four vault toilets. There are two flush toilets. Drinking water & garbage service is available. Non-motorized and electric-powered boats are permitted on the lake. There is a 2- mile Lakeshore Trailwhich loops around the lake.
There is also recreational gold panning in the area & the author of this page has found gold in the area.

From Hwy 69: South on Walker Road (by Costco; 5 miles east of Prescott), approximately 3 miles. Campground is on the left side of Walker Road. The campground road and spurs are paved.

If you are planning to visit Prescott and the Prescott area and you are coming from outside of Arizona, you could fly into Phoenix and then rent a car. Prescott is a little over a 2 hour drive from Phoenix off of the scenic I-17 route by taking Arizona 69. There are hotels and motels all along the way in nearby towns.
