Menodora scabra is described as a deciduous, perennial dicot; subshrub, shrub, or forb that is about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 feet tall. Yellow Menodora has Green foliage and conspicuous Yellow flowers, with conspicuous Yellow fruits or seeds. The yellow flowers have 5 - 6 petal lobes. Its flowers are from 3/4 inch to 1 inch in width. The simple leaves are alternate, smooth edged, and oblanceolate-- wider nearer to the tip that the base.

Flowers: Bright yellow, up to about 3/4" - 1 inches in width.

Fruits: Yellow to Pink, paired globose capsule. Two to four seeds in each fruit.
Leaves: The green simple leaves are alternate, smooth edged, and oblanceolate-- wider nearer to the tip that the base.
Found: Native to Sonoran and Mojave deserts reaching into the western fringes of the Chihuahuan Desert in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. States of Arizona., California., Nevada., New Mexico., Utah. In Mexico: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and Sonora.
