Quick Notes:
Height: From about 18 inches tall and about 12 inches wide.
Flowers: Flowers violet-purple, whitish bell to trumpet-shaped with 5 rounded lobes to 1/2" wide. The flowerhead is finely haired, with terminal coils.
Flowering Time: Mid February - May.
Leaves: The variable leaves are once or twice pinnately divided, dark green, to 5" long. Stems reddish and hairy, sticky.
Fruit: A sharp-pointed, narrow capsule with an elongated tail, which coils spirally at maturity. The point is driven into the ground as it ripens.
Found: Native of California, adjacent sections of Nevada and Arizona in the United States, and parts of northern Mexico.

Habitat: Phacelia's habitat is the desert environs, where it occupies open, sandy washes to rocky flats, bajadas, roadsides, and playas.
