"World's Oldest Rodeo," is really; The "World's Oldest Rodeo ! " Others have claimed that they are the "World's Oldest Rodeo," but after meeting five criteria, rodeo committee officials received a U.S. Registered Trademark on the name, �World�s Oldest Rodeo,� on August 6, 1985.
The "World's Oldest Rodeo" began on July 4, 1888, in Forbing Park, located in Miller Valley, in the northwestern part of Prescott (near the present day Watters Garden Center). as a �cowboy tournament,� featuring bronc riding, steer roping and horse racing.

Of all the sports, no other is directly related to the natural world like rodeo. It actually is a reflection of the skills that cowboys use in real life.

If you are planning to visit Prescott and the Prescott area and you are coming from outside of Arizona, you could fly into Phoenix and then rent a car. Prescott is a little over a 2 hour drive from Phoenix off of the scenic I-17 route by taking Arizona 69. There are hotels and motels all along the way in nearby towns.
