Glandularia gooddingii, Vervain Family: ( Verbenaceae ), Gooding's Verbena. Also called: Verbena gooddingii, Southwestern Mock Vervain.

A short lived perennial ground cover, fast growing to 2 feet tall, 4 feet in diameter.

We see it growing wild at Yarnell, Arizona - at 4,800 feet.

This is also a xeriscape landscaping plant in Arizona.


Quick Notes:

Height: Perennial evergreen growing to about 24 inches tall and 48 inches wide.

Flowers: The flowers are lavender to pink. 1 1/2 inches - 3 inches, rounded clusters on top of square stems with opposite leaves. The flowers have 5, joined, notched, petals.

Flowering Time: March - June. Sometimes through September.

Leaves: The leaves are simple, bright green, pubescent, hairy, deeply cut 1.5 inches long about 1 inch wide.

Found: Native to the southwestern United States (AZ, CA, NM, NV, TX, UT); and the extreme northwest of Northern Mexico.
