A short lived perennial plant, fast growing to 2 - 3 feet tall. Generally about 18 inches tall. A partial root parasite. There are over 12 species of this plant in Arizona and they are very difficult to identify. The leaves of this plant were known in Mexico by the Zapotec's as Hierba de Conejo and were used in the cooking of beans and rice. Used fresh or dry.
