If you just tell someone, that you are in "Winslow, Arizona" they're sure to ask you the question "Are you, Standin' - On - A - Corner - In - Winslow, Arizona?" The lyrics "Standin' - On - A - Corner - In - Winslow, Arizona," were made famous by "The Eagles" from the song "Take It Easy", written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey, during the 1970's. It's a song almost everyone of the 70's generation knows, and sings. It has actually put Winslow, Arizona on the map! Now, you can actually stand on this same corner, in historic downtown Winslow, like thousands of people do every year, and have your picture taken at the "Standin' on the Corner" Park. In 1999, the town of Winslow finished building their "Standin' on the Corner" Park. This downtown corner park includes a life-size statue of a very relaxed dude-with-a-guitar, and a 2-story Trompe L'oeil style mural describing all of the important lyrics of "Take It Easy": "a girl" and "a flatbed Ford" reflected in a storefront window, "a couple in an embrace", along with an eagle perched on one painted window sill. Winslow, Arizona is located on Interstate 40, between Flagstaff and the New Mexico border. I - 40 is part of the famous old Highway 66. Winslow runs an annual Standin' on the Corner Festival at the end of September featuring several country rock, and Eagles tribute bands, such as Hotel California. On I-17, Take exit 340A to merge onto I-40 E toward Albuquerque 56.3 miles. Then take exit 252 for Hipkoe Dr toward I-40 0.4 mile. Then take exit 252 for Hipkoe Dr. toward I-40 about 0.4 mile. Then turn right at Hipkoe Dr. and go about 299 feet. Then take the 1st left onto W. 3rd. St. about 0.3 mile. Continue onto W 2nd St and your destination will be on the right.

If you are planning to visit Standin' on the Corner Park. And if you are coming from outside of Arizona, you could fly into Flagstaff, Arizona and then rent a car. You also could fly into the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and drive the 144 miles to Flagstaff. Take the I-17 north to Flagstaff. I-17 will end and turn into Milton Road, leading you into Flagstaff. A trip of 144 miles (232 km) - 2 hours. There is a Sky Harbor - Flagstaff flight that can be arranged. There is also a Sky Harbor - Flagstaff shuttle. You could also come in from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
