Alexandria, Egypt. Street View. |
---|
According to Plutarch's account of the founding of Alexandria, Homer appeared to Alexander The Great in a dream and described Alexandria as "an island set in deep ocean...lies off fair Egypts rich and fertile land and the name of the island is called Pharos." Alexander's dream came true with the founding of Alexandria in B.C. 331 on the site of the Ancient Egyptian Village of Rakhotis. Alexandria became the second largest city of the Roman Empire. Alexandria is where we visited The Greco-Roman Museum, The Catacombs, Pompeys Red Piller and its Catacombs.
