The Cholula Museum or Museo, in Spanish, is located very close to the entrance to the site of Cholula. If fact, it is right across the street and you walk about 50 meters down another street to get to it. The land where Cholula is located produced some of the finest clay in all of Mexico. Thus, the ancient people of Cholula made some of the finest clay pottery in all of Mexico. In fact, the last of the Aztec emperor's would only eat his meals off of the fine Cholula plates. This museum has many examples of this fine quality pottery on display and it is well worth the visit just to see the excellent workmanship and quality of these pieces of functional art. Puebla is still well known for some of the finest ceramics and tile in all of Mexico. We have been to Cholula on two different occasions. First in December of 1982 and again on January 17, 2004. It is amazing to see how the population of Mexico City has grown clear out to the edges of Puebla and how the City of Puebla has grown up around the Pyramid Of Cholula. What used to be a rather sleepy town is now a thriving crowded community. When you visit allow for the extra time that you will need to drive from place to place and be aware that parking near the museum and the Cholula archaeological site may be difficult, but still possible.
We did not see the Museum in 1982, we are not even sure if there was a museum to visit then. The photos on this page were taken January 17, 2004 on a rather overcast, rainy day.

To visit this area we would suggest flying into either Mexico City or Puebla and then staying at a hotel of your choice. There are many very good hotels and motels in the area, and if you need a place to stay; Priceline.com can arrange that for you. In fact, we think they are the best way to do it! We have personally, booked flights, hotels, and vacations, through Priceline.com and we can highly recommend them. Their website is very easy to use! We have some links to Priceline.com on this page, since they can arrange all of your air flights, hotels and car. We of course, appreciate your use of the advertising on our pages, since it helps us to keep our pages active. We also have links on this page, that will connect you with several of the best hotels in Mexico City, & Puebla. Hotels that we have personally used! We could, also suggest getting a hotel, and then letting them arrange for either a car, or a tour of Mexico City. If you call their Concierge Services, ahead of your arrival, all of this can be pre-arranged for you. We have used this method, many times, when traveling in Mexico. We have found it to be safe and it works!!! We have never experienced a problem, doing it this way!
