Upper Lake Mary: Elevation about 6,821 feet. Upper Lake Mary is the largest of Flagstaff's twin lakes. When full, Upper Lake Mary covers about 450 acres at a maximum depth of 38 feet. Upper Lake Mary has northern pike, channel cat, crappie and some trout. Upper Lake Mary is a long, narrow lake that is popular with power boaters and water skiers because there is no motor size limit on the lake. But, it's also popular with those who prefer rubber rafts, canoes, and sailboats. The lake was named after Mary Riordan, a member of one of the Flagstaff's founding families. The lake has three paved boat ramps and there is no limit on boat motor size. There are excellent facilities for disabled anglers. You'll find lakeside picnic tables and restrooms. There are two developed campgrounds nearby including Lake View Campground and Pine Grove Campground. In addition, nearby, Canyon Vista Campground can be found closer to Lower Lake Mary and you can find more other camping areas at nearby Mormon Lake and Ashurst Lake. Lake View Campground and Pine Grove Campground are usually open from May 1 through October 15, 2009. Lake View Campground is located near Upper Lake Mary with easy foot access to the water, via the Wood Memorial Trail (0.5 miles) or by car. It has 30 single unit sites. Tables, fire rings and cooking grills, Drinking water, 3 accessible vault type toilets. Boat ramp at lakes. Universal access fishing at Lake Mary Narrows Picnic Area; Wood Memorial Trail (universal access) links Lakeview campground with Lake Mary Narrows Picnic Area; Trash service for pay campers ONLY; Host on site. Pine Grove Campground is spread out through a cool stand of pines which are bordered by high country meadows. Access to the campground is via a short spur off of Forest Highway 3. It has 46 single unit sites, 16 of which are fully handicap-accessible. Coin-operated showers, tables, fire rings and cooking grills, Drinking water, Toilets (flush type, handicap-accessible), RV dump station, boat ramp at lakes, Handicap-accessible fishing access at Lake Mary Narrows. The Lake Mary Narrows Picnic Area also serves the area.The picnic area is on the west side of Lake Mary Road (Forest Highway 3) in a grove of trees. It provides excellent access facilities for disabled anglers by means of paved lakeshore ramps. The Narrows boat launch is about: N35� 3� 51.2634�, W-111� 30� 2.916� . There are picnic tables (barrier free), cooking grills, composting toilets (barrier free), boat ramp, paved fishing access for disabled, Lake View Campground is nearby.

If you are planning to visit Lower Lake Mary. And if you are coming from outside of Arizona, you could fly into Flagstaff, Arizona and then rent a car. You also could fly into the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and drive the 144 miles to Flagstaff. Take the I-17 north to Flagstaff. I-17 will end and turn into Milton Road, leading you into Flagstaff. A trip of 144 miles (232 km) - 2 hours. There is also a Sky Harbor - Flagstaff shuttle. There are many hotels and motels in both areas and if you need a place to stay; Priceline.com can arrange that for you. In addition, you may need to purchase some outdoor gear, boating equipment, or fishing gear.
