The Bradbury Science Museum is the chief public facility of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, located at 1350 Central Avenue in Los Alamos, New Mexico, in the United States. The Museum serves as a bridge between the Laboratory and the community, helping to improve science education and science literacy. The Museum also serves as a window to the Laboratory, interpreting the Laboratory's history and current research. In other words, the general public can visit the museum, not the laboratory. The museum is filled with information about the past, present, and future use, of nuclear science! This web page's author, is a former science teacher, and George highly recommends visiting this museum! George say's, you could see the exhibits, in about an hour; but you could really spend the day, and still not learn all that you could from the museum. The Bradbury Science Museum was founded in 1963, and was named for the Laboratory's second director (1945-1970), Norris E. Bradbury. Among the museum's early exhibits, artifacts and documents from the World War II Manhattan Project were displayed upon declassification. Other exhibits include full size models of the Little Boy and Fat Man atomic bombs.
