After the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, the Saints were led from Nauvoo to the site of modern day Salt Lake City. It was not too long afterwards that Brigham Young directed the Saints to expand their growth into other areas.

The Lima Peru Temple was dedicated on 10–12 January 1986, by Gordon B. Hinckley.

The Lima Peru Temple is officially considered the 38th LDS Temple. Three other temples built are not considered in the official count. They are the Kirkland Temple, The Original Nauvoo Temple, and the Apia, Western Samoa Temple which was destroyed by fire on July 9, 2003.

It's groundbreaking and site dedication was on 11 September 1982, by Boyd K. Packer.

The Lima Peru Temple is located at Prolg. Av. Javier Prado Este 6420, La Molina, Lima, Perú.

The temple is of a modern adaptation of six-spire design.. It has a beautiful exterior finish of local granite, of Oriental design.

It has four ordinance rooms and three sealing rooms with a total floor area of 9,600 square feet

It's Temple Code is LIMA. The telephone number is (51) 1-348-0418.

The Jorge Chávez International Airport (IATA: LIM, ICAO: SPIM), known as Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez in Spanish, is Peru's main international and domestic airport. It is located in Callao, 11 kilometers (7 mi) from the Historic Centre of Lima and 17 km (11 mi) from Miraflores. Callao is the port city which is now fully integrated with Lima, the nation's capital.

There are several Guided Tour Agencies offering standard city, Hiking, and archaeological tours of Lima and the surrounding area.

We suggest Flying into Lima and then going to the surrounding areas of your choice.

This page is for information purposes only and while we have made every effort to be accurate, it is the travelers responsibility to make the appropriate choice as to which hotels to use in Peru.

There are many very good hotels and motels in the area, and if you need a place to stay; Priceline.com can arrange that for you. In fact, we think they are the best way to do it!

We have personally, booked flights, hotels, and vacations, through Priceline.com and we can highly recommend them. Their website is very easy to use!

We have some links to Priceline.com on this page, since they can arrange all of your air flights, hotels and car in all of the major cities of Peru.

NOTE: When you do a search. First go to Country Peru. Then you will get a list of cities. That will make your search better!

We of course, appreciate your use of the advertising on our pages, since it helps us to keep our pages active.

We could, also suggest getting a hotel, and then letting them arrange for either a car, or a tour of Peru. If you call their Concierge Services, ahead of your arrival, all of this can be pre-arranged for you.

We have used this method, many times, when traveling in Peru. We have found it to be safe and it works!!! We have never experienced a problem, doing it this way!
