Touring Mexico City:
The places to visit, that we have listed on this page, are for places that you can easily visit, if you are touring Mexico City. Most of the places are within the city itself, some are in nearby communities, some are within about 90 miles of Mexico City. City traffic being what it is in Mexico City: you should plan for about a 45 minute, up to a one hour drive, between the sites in the city itself. These would be about 7 - 15 km. apart. For outside of the city; plan on about 1 1/2 hours up to about 2 hours travel time to the sites. Most sites can be seen by spending about an hour, to an hour and a half on the site. Some, such as the National Museum of Anthropology and History, take almost a full day to see. Simply click on the links listed below, to see our tours of the sites. The Mexico City International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México or AICM), also called Benito Juárez International Airport (IATA: MEX, ICAO: MMMX) is the major commercial airport that serves Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. It is also Mexico's and Latin America's busiest airport!
We suggest flying there and arranging to stay in a hotel in Mexico City. Then, arrange for either a tour, a car, or a local driver, to visit Mexico City & it's surrounding areas. There are many very good hotels in Mexico City, and if you need a place to stay; Priceline.com can arrange that for you too. In fact, we think they are the best way to do it! We have personally, booked flights, hotels, and vacations, through Priceline.com and we can highly recommend them. Their website is very easy to use! We have some links to Priceline.com on this page, since they can arrange all of your air flights, hotels, a car, or a tour. We of course, appreciate your use of the advertising on our pages, since it helps us to keep our pages active. Another way to safely tour Mexico City would be to book a hotel, and then to let them arrange for either a car, or a tour of Mexico City. If you call their Concierge Services, ahead of your arrival, all of this can be pre-arranged for you. You could also make these arrangements through their Concierge Services, after your arrival. In addition to using Priceline, we have also used the above, last method, many times, when traveling in Mexico. We have also found it to be safe and we have never experienced a problem, doing it that way! -- But, It sometimes, is more expensive than using Priceline!
Special Note - To Arrange Tours: A New Way To Arrange Your Tours Has Become Popular. It makes the process of getting a tour easy, and timesaving for you. It also is almost always less expensive. In most cases when you are at an attraction, you will be escourted to the front of the line, and be given special treatment. It is viator.com.
